Meat Processing

  • Cooling rooms available to cool carcasses.
  • Complete butchery at Vlakpan to process carcasses of hunters from Vlakpan and Ameland.
  • Meat processing at R22.50 per kg of carcass weight.
  • Personnel has the knowledge and expertise to deliver the highest quality service.
  • Only Crown spice, traditional recipes and the highest quality mutton (vetstert-skaap) is used.
  • Fees include processing, drying, packaging and freezing of meat.

 

Hunting Conditions

  • Hunting takes place according to legal aspects and ordinances.
  • All hunters will sign a indemnity form.
  • Accuracy of weapons must be proven on shooting range.
  • Only “walk & stalk” hunting on foot.
  • No hunting from vehicles.
  • No hunting without guides
  • Hunters and guides are dropped off and picked up at designated points.
  • All guides equipped with two-way radios.
  • No hunting at feeding and watering points.
  • Persons under the influence of alcohol will not be allowed to hunt.
  • Weapon safety is the hunters responsibility.
  • Weapons locked up in saves after hunting sessions.
  • Hunting from first light to 17:00.
  • Confirm calibre sizes and species that are hunted.  Calibres smaller than .243 (6mm) are not allowed.
  • Guides help with the identification of game, but the responsibility of what is shot lies with you, who pulls the trigger.
  • Hunted game will be picked up and taken to slaughter house immediately  after radio contact.
  • Two hunting sessions between 6:00 – 11:00 and 14:00 – 17:00 daily.
  • No hunting on nights, Sundays, or Christian holidays.
  • Miss shots @ 25% of game price.
  • Wounding an animal – Full price of game
  • Species not to be hunted: Giraffe, Nyala, Steenbok and Duiker
  • ‘A deposito of 25% to secure booking.
  • Vlakpan & Ameland are registered for VAT.  All prices excludes VAT.
